Puppy Socialization Class (Rolling Admissions)
I’m happy to announce that I’ll be moving to the new Animal Behavior Wellness Center that is opening in Fairfax, August 2019. Please come find me at www.abwellnesscenter.com. Puppy classes at the Franklin Farm Veterinary Clinic will be turned over to Jennifer Pennington, of Lead With Fun, LLC, as of mid-June 2019 at www.LeadWithFun.com.
Taking puppy socialization classes is like “vaccinating” against serious behavior problems. The primary focus of this class is socialization. In addition, our experts will be there to answer your puppy-related questions and guide you through this important phase of puppy development.
This 5 week course is held on Thursday evenings from 6:45 – 7:45 p.m. at the Franklin Farm Veterinary Clinic. We have rolling admissions so you can start as soon as your puppy has been examined by a veterinarian and has at least one distemper-parvo vaccine. Puppies must be up to date on all vaccinations based on their age when starting class and throughout the course. Puppies can start class up until 16 weeks of age.
Experts agree, puppy socialization is THE most important thing you can do for your new puppy to give them the best start in life!

Puppy Basic Skills Class
This 7 week course is a semi-private learning experience, limited to 4 puppies and their handlers, so you will get loads of one-on-one attention. The focus of this course is basic life skills for your puppy. Skills include come (quickly!) when called, leave it, walk nicely on leash, go to place, down, stay, sit for greetings, and more. Additionally, your dog or puppy will receive introductory training for positive grooming and vet procedures, so these things aren’t so scary or stressful (for you or your dog)! Classes are taught by Christine Michaud on Tuesday and Thursday evenings (see the different sessions below) at the Franklin Farm Veterinary Clinic. This class is designed for puppies up to 6 months of age.
Session 1 begins Thursday May 2nd at 8:00 p.m. (This class is full)
